Heading home

Poor internet service combined with my computer's 1 hour battery life when we're anchor and without power makes blogging very difficult.
I did use my sewing machine to fix Hans' swim trunks that we discovered had been ripped from top to bottom in the back thus providing a very interesting show at one of the marina swimming pools.

No children were present and therefor no one will need therapy!

This was taken at Grabber's Bar in Guana Cay. I'm carrying a purse I made and for the life of me I can't remember the name of the pattern. It does work very well for traveling though since it has two zippered pockets. I had to fly home for a week and it held my passport very securely in the flap pocket and as I had a total of 6 flights I was constantly whipping it out.

We traveled the Abacos and went as far as Hopetown which is beautiful, quaint, and very historical.

However, Baby Girl graduates from college this month and we need to get home.

Finally in the Bahamas

We finally got here and of course managed to get caught in the middle of a huge storm with winds gusting over 50 knots!
Hans is in full foul weather gear, life jacket, and safety harness. It was too nasty to even attempt entering the Bimini harbor so we ended up anchoring in Nixon's Harbour in South Bimini.
The next day we had to ride 6 foot waves into the harbor but we got here and cleared customs.

Our first sunset.

Wilbur playing on the beach. The water is sky blue and when it crashes on the beach it's crystal clear.
Yes, that's my sewing machine in the cockpit. I made a rather ugly but possibly usable wind scoop for our berth hatch.
We are heading out today and hopefully sailing down to Cat Cay. We bought some Conch from a man who rowed over to our boat last night and I hope to grill it tonight.
